HBO has released "House of the Dragon," a prequel series to the popular fantasy drama "Game of Thrones." Set two centuries before the events of the original show, "House of the Dragon" delves into the history of House Targaryen, the powerful family that once ruled Westeros.
Based on Martin's 'Fire & Blood'
The prequel is based on George R.R. Martin's novel "Fire & Blood" and was co-created by Ryan J. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, who previously directed several episodes of "Game of Thrones." The series stars Paddy Considine as King Viserys I Targaryen, Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen.
