Marvel Studios has finally confirmed the new title for Avengers 5, revealing the Marvel Cinematic Universe's next big event film. Originally set to be titled "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty," the film will now be known as "Avengers: Doomsday." The change was announced during Marvel's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, where it was also revealed that the film will be directed by MCU veterans the Russo Brothers and will hit theaters on May 1, 2026.

The retitling of Avengers 5 is a significant shift for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Kang Dynasty was originally set to be the culmination of Phase 6 of the MCU, with Kang the Conqueror serving as the main antagonist.
