You Have To Say Goodbye To Players Pundit Issues Verdict On Ollie Palmers Wrexham Afc Future

"You have to say goodbye to players" - Pundit issues verdict on Ollie Palmer's Wrexham AFC future

Wrexham AFC are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign striker Paul Mullin from Cambridge United.

The 27-year-old is a free agent this summer and has been linked with a move to the Racecourse Ground for some time.

Mullin scored 32 goals in 46 appearances for Cambridge last season, helping them to win promotion to League One.

If Mullin does join Wrexham, it could spell the end of Ollie Palmer's time at the club.

Palmer, 32, has been a key player for Wrexham in recent seasons, but he has struggled for form this term.

The striker has scored just five goals in 29 appearances in all competitions and has been linked with a move away from the club.

Pundit David Prutton believes that Mullin's arrival could force Palmer out of Wrexham.

"I think you have to say goodbye to players," Prutton told the Wrexham AFC website.

"If you're bringing in a player like Paul Mullin, who is a proven goalscorer at this level, then someone has to make way.

"I think Ollie Palmer is a good player, but he hasn't been at his best this season.

"If Mullin does come in, then I think it's time for Palmer to move on."

It remains to be seen whether Palmer will leave Wrexham this summer, but it is clear that his future at the club is in doubt.

If Mullin does join, then it is likely that Palmer will be forced to find a new club.

Wrexham are expected to make a decision on Palmer's future in the coming weeks.
